The City of Ekurhuleni has established the O.R Tambo Cultural Precinct in Wattville. Oliver Reginald Tambo, one of South Africa’s most loved and illustrious leaders, lived in the community of Wattville with his wife, Adelaide Tambo, from 1948 until he went into exile in 1960, and then on his return to South Africa in 1991. Such was their bond with the community of Wattville that OR and Adelaide Tambo chose the Tamboville Cemetery as their final resting place. Read more
